Our Vision

We envision an Ireland where no family faces Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) alone.

An Ireland where every parent and carer can access understanding, peer support and accurate information; where every individual living with FASD is recognised, respected and supported throughout their life; and where awareness, prevention, timely diagnosis and appropriate services become the national standard.

We also believe that every person deserves the best possible start in life. By increasing awareness of the risks of prenatal alcohol exposure and promoting alcohol-free conception and pregnancy, we can reduce the number of babies affected by FASD in future generations.

Our Mission

FASD Ireland is Ireland's independent, parent-led peer support organisation for everyone affected by Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Everything we do is shaped by lived experience. We know the challenges because we have lived them ourselves.

Our mission is to ensure that no individual, parent, carer or family has to navigate FASD alone. We provide trusted peer support, practical guidance, education and advocacy, while working to build understanding of FASD across Irish society.

We amplify the voices of families, challenge barriers to support, promote evidence-based prevention, and campaign for better recognition, diagnosis and lifelong services for everyone living with FASD.

We are more than an organisation - we are a community of families supporting families.

Our Values

We Lead with Lived Experience

We are parents, carers and families who understand the realities of FASD. Everything we do begins with

listening, understanding and supporting one another.

We Put Families First

Families are at the heart of our organisation. Every person deserves to feel heard, respected and never alone.

We Never Blame or Shame

FASD is a health issue, not a moral failing. We provide compassionate, non-judgemental

support to everyone who comes to us.

We Empower Through Knowledge

We share trusted, evidence-based information that helps families, professionals and

communities better understand FASD and make informed decisions.

We Advocate Fearlessly

We speak up when families are overlooked, services fall short or change is needed.

We challenge respectfully, persistently and without apology.

We Build Community

Peer support changes lives. We believe the greatest strength comes from families supporting families,

sharing experience, hope and practical advice.

We Believe in Possibility

People living with FASD have strengths, talents and enormous potential.

With the right understanding and support, every individual can thrive.
